Birdie

I went all mental 2 months into delivering the lil' guy.

I decided that I was going to paint a huge tree on a wall of the lil' girl's bedroom. With leaves in different shades of green. Then I kopped out. I took the easy way out and just cut leaves out of green patterned scrapbook papers. Easy peasy.

10 months on and there's still no sight of the birds I originally planned to "plant" on the "tree".

These from Graphic Spaces are heirloom pieces in my opinion. And they go so well in the girl's bedroom.

Plush

I am slowly purging Nadine's collection of plush toys. Only because, she has never shown any inclination towards it. Give her building blocks, toy cars and she will play happily.

Trawling etsy has its "dangers". I love these plush toys from Sleepy King . . . but I am afraid they will have to remain as visual treat for me:-

alphabet dreams

abc bear pillow by pilosale
alphabet pillow

my boy and i went to shop for yarn on sat. to make a lacy blanket for his little sister. alas, all the colors were a little froufrou for me (pinks! purples!) and i gravitated toward browns and greys. apprehensive about my own drab choices, i wimped out and chose a wool-alpaca mix in cream. the little boy is recognizing alphabets now... what about a creamy pillow for fluffy dreams of abc-land?

Jolly Jolly!

A few days before we left London, tube stations in the West End were closed and traffic was diverted for an entire day. All that for the annual Christmas Lights London.

We didn't see much of Oxford Street with the lightup but already then, overhead and seen at Caffe Nero and Costa were shopping bags filled with all Christmas goodies and whispers of what to give who.

It made me smile. Not sure why though.

But who wouldn't if you get one of these wreaths from Knock Knocking?

Bag Lady

Ok. I know. I know.

2 posts in a day. In about an hour.

Crazy.

You'd never believe I am married to a wonderful man with 2 fur-children and a 2-week old angel. All living with me in the same house. ;-P

I just about exploded the moment I laid eyes on these:

Hip

Why do I have a feeling that the statement on this onesie will resonate with Cookie when she has developed independent thought?

Meeeoooowwww

Had a fabulous lunch at Straits Kitchen at the Grand Hyatt Singapore (note to self : bring first time out-of-town guests for introductory meal there) yesterday afternoon and found myself back in the office after trawling the silicon world.

For the animal lovers out there, rest-assured that M and I will still take turns devoting our time to our fur-children, Stairway and Empress.

At present Stairway loves to spread herself on the bathroom rug to sleep. Empress loves to lie on the headboard, her head hanging off the edge to look at my face. (I get cute views of them every time I wake up!) :-)

These pet beds are such an indulgence but too cute to resist.

Quick get 'em at a 10% discount at their shop! Only this weekend (9th and 10th May - US time, people) . Quote "Quirky Weekend" in the message to seller at checkout.

Guys and Dolls

Cookie and I had a fabulous time rolling on the bed last night without having to worry about being squeezed.

Yeah, M is away in Kuala Lumpur as we speak but we will have him back in physical company tonight - yeay!

In the office, I have been trying to sort out my working schedule to accomodate my current state. Whilst my mind is still young and raring to go, I find myself constantly battling people to get anywhere and it's something I have no inclination to fight for (at the moment). So, I may cut down my hours drastically until Cookie decides to join us here. :-)

In the meantime, I have been admiring these plushy bunnies - they are soo adorable!

I want them for me as much as I am tempted to get one for Cookie.

Still . . . language is universal - no? ;-P

Beauty of Love

M and I did nothing on a what started out as a beautiful sunny day back in Singapore, at home. Chilling. With Stairway and Empress.

It's raining now.

I love the smell of rain. The distant occasional sounds of thunder shattering the peace of the quiet afternoon with M napping and the cats sleeping.

A few weeks before I turned 34 - gosh, I can't believe how old I am right now! - I went through a self-evaluation phase.

And though it took me a long to see it then, I realise now that what I love, is what I do. Be it, my day-job, my side projects, etc.

The Persian poet Rumi reminds us to "let the beauty of what you love be what you do".

Mod Squad

M and I are in basking in the wonderful weather of Sydney, albeit it was rained down yesterday and looking a bit gloomy this early in the morning.

We're shopping for a land+house whilst here (thus our decision to give up our want to get a private property back in Singapore even with the plummeting private property prices there) and settling for a bigger quasi-"garment" (for the benefit of our non-Singaporean readers, there's a few Singaporeans who cannot pronounce government thus their localised pronunciation) apartment then (aka 4-bedroom flat).

It was an easy decision.

We're dreaming of the impending heartaches dealing with the council and contractors. Mulling over interiors etc. I think secretly, both M and I live in that sort of stress. A lil' bit masochistic, if you ask me.

Not sure yet what "look" we're after but these sold by Fabulousmess are lovely :

W.Ho Done It?

These by Wendy Ho are such a sight for sore-eyes:

Cuffing it Up

So what's a girl to do when she's got too much going on at work and no time to grab lunch?

A lil' distraction in the form of online "window-shopping" of course. :-P

O.M.G (!!) :

M would love these vinyl cufflinks I am sure.

And since I am having french cuffed shirts made for me tomorrow, these would definitely inject a bit of quirkiness in the boring drab colours I have to otherwise endure :

And I even found a pair for Exp and E - the math whizzes that they are :

Cute, aren't they? ~ Inspira
