toasty versus minty

christmas buntings

3_holidays

still dreaming... my christmas to-do list for next year includes making reindeer garlands, shimmery buntings and paper flowers, and gingerly attempt a toasty crochet throw, not forgetting, streamers of turquoise silk moire ribbons down from the tree.

ideas and to-dos

christmas has come and gone but i'm still romanticizing it. this is the best time to gather ideas for what to do the next year, since the whole town has quietened down in anticipation of the countdown.

i realize i like my tree simple. we used the ikea kallt spruce lights (they were heavily discounted) and they are so cute. i wish i could find these snowflakes to adorn the rest of the home ...

on to next project, cinnamon desperately needs a living room pillow to chill out ... these rug pillows seem to nail it. this calls for making a trip to ikea to get the signe rugs - we need to bring our tree back to ikea for recycling anyway...

Inspira's World

One of the colleagues in the office got me this for Christmas:

I laughed. Out loud.

I do live in my own world sometimes. My world filled with people who are cool, friendly, lovely, has a huge collection of Martha Stewart magazines and . . . ( <-- fill adjectives here).

Jolly Jolly!

A few days before we left London, tube stations in the West End were closed and traffic was diverted for an entire day. All that for the annual Christmas Lights London.

We didn't see much of Oxford Street with the lightup but already then, overhead and seen at Caffe Nero and Costa were shopping bags filled with all Christmas goodies and whispers of what to give who.

It made me smile. Not sure why though.

But who wouldn't if you get one of these wreaths from Knock Knocking?

happy

Happy holidays and to those who celebrate Christmas - Merry Christmas! <-- sorry, a little late.
I have a lot to be thankful for this year:
+ Turkey turned out yummilicious, though my oven broke half-way through cooking the bird
+ E is done with his Ph.D.
+ Our little baby enjoyed his first Christmas, albeit in the comfort of mommy's womb
+ Cinnamon is in Singapore
+ My work is going well :)
More on tweaked recipes in a later post, for now, I leave you with this image that just brings good cheer to me as I happily house-clean my crazy office.
