i've always been intrigued by tapestry and when E and i were at Bayeux some years ago we were indeed quite blown away.

i'm inspired by this paul smith ark needlepoint not only by its beauty but its price tag has me seriously wanting to make my own version of it... as usual martha to the rescue...

Afternoon Reads with the Flightless Birds

What do you do when you're home on a Tuesday afternoon, ill. Rain pelting against the windows.

(Still) exhausted (lazy , really) to attack (read: unpack) anymore of the boxes lined up against the walls in the guest room.

You wish you have a good book on hand to read.

The kind that is a visual treat as well as it is a mental stimuli.

These Penguin classic hardbacks designed by London designer Coralie Bickford-Smith will probably be the medicine to treat my cough and cold:

I am sooo going to get a few of them at Waterstone's (where these babies are sold exclusively) when I up in London in a few months. :-)

Knock Knock!

I've been thinking lots about doors.

Old 10-year old doors in our new home (apart from the bathrooms') are going to be reused.

Even that pseudo make-shift wooden panel for a sliding door in the study room will be re-used at some point. For something.

don't you just love mini? feisty and sweet, cute (like, hot-chick cute) and witty :) love her to bits, i bet moxie shares lots of her traits!

i'm up at an odd hour - 5.30am - my tummy molded to an unnatural shape. E and I swear we've got twins but the doc's transducer hasn't caught it yet.

anyhoo, i'm sitting here eating a store-bought croissant (which is pretty good given that it comes from a factory) and drinking hot tea and clearing out my inbox and saw this...

Crafted by Neapolitan Printing & Company of the choc-o-bama fame, these amy ruppel chocolates promised marvelous flavors: lychee, green tea and five-spice cashew enclosed in either a bittersweet or milk chocolate shell, all wrapped up in a neat little year of the ox box with a 7x7 print. life is like a box of chocolates indeed!

Peace

I started an art project the night of 4 January 2009.

The seed planted whilst I was sitting there in the living room after brunch, watching the news unfolding on BBC and CNN. A mix of emotions flooding me.

After a few days (of painting and comtemplation), I think I am (almost) done with the art project. I don't think I can ever be done with this particular one.

bar soaps from Pop Ink - whimsical designs by Charles S. Anderson Design and produced in collaboration with family-run paper mill French Paper and Laurie DeMartino Design. And while surfing French Paper's website, i'm strangely attracted to their decor-a-boards which are made of birch veneer over MDF, made from recycled wood scraps or unused portions of lumbered trees.

... it's a little comforting to know that Little Red Ridinghood is able to pre-empt and stand up to the big bad wolf. ~ exp~
