one true sentence

Do not worry. You have always written before and you will write
now. All you have to do is write one true sentence. Write the truest
sentence that you know.
~ Ernest Hemingway in A Moveable Feast

I'm in the business of writing. That's my job and I adore it but words are hard to come by and I get discouraged along the way. E's favorite author is Hemingway, I think. I'm reading "A Moveable Feast" and dreaming of living in Paris - least to say, my sister had a chance to live and breathe Paree but decided to ditch it altogether to return to Singapore, a choice that still puzzles me. We've just returned from our NY visit - I slept through most of the 7-8 hour car-ride (I'm saying this sheepishly).

8 good things about mini-vacation:

  1. mom-in-law: funny and totally adorable
  2. finishing 3 murder-mysteries by witty Ayelet Waldman (E finished all 4!)
  3. home-cooked goodies: meatloaf, stuffed peppers, baked salmon.
  4. finishing work I brought (hey, I said it was a mini-vacation - oh, did I mention I have a type A personality?)
  5. winning an ebay auction: vintage vogue knitting books
  6. planning the next crafting project and eyeing fabrics from repro depot
  7. coming home and receiving lovely mail
  8. coming home and watching season 3 of project runway

Inspira, where are you - bogged down by before-vacation-work?
Missing you, exp.
