Razzle Dazzle

In the office and dreaming of the apartment.

I have to start working on the study. Seriously. That means, getting the roller brush and start painting the built-in-study which we had our carpenter dismantle in our old apartment study and built back into our new apartment study.

I never thought custom built cabinetry can be dismantled and re-assembled.

Now I know! It's a lot of savings. And since we've only used it for 3 years, still in pretty good condition - it just needs a new facelift. Lavender is not our thing in the new apartment.

So yes, back to painting the study.

Or maybe tackling something simple. Something which will take half a day at most.

Like painting and wallpapering the staircase handrails.

When I was in London sometime ago, I purchased 2 rolls of Julien MacDonald's Dazzle wallpaper. In black and silver.

The same wallpaper which I purchased. Exact design and colour.

I'm toying with wallpapering the handrails with these.

Too much, you think?

I'm floored by these vintage wallpapers.

No matter if you're into the Eames spacey era or the psychedelic 60s or even the 70s flower power, you'll find something here. ~ Inspira

On a Whim!

M and I have been good today. We stayed in and cleaned up after ourselves. The apartment is now looking less like a tornado just passed through.

With M's personal belongings arriving here from Sydney in the 1st week of April, we have lots to do in terms of space planning. The Creativity Room will be measured out and hopefully new shelves and study table will don it.

The chicken is roasting in the oven and with available time in between, Whimsy Press has kept me visually enticed. ~ Inspira

Julia Rothman's work has been swirling around in the design blogworld... her patterns are so refreshing and the photography featuring her work keeps my mind abuzz with ideas for our future home... i always wonder how one could wallpaper a bathroom especially in a humid climate like ours where mildew loves to linger a little longer than necessary...

inspira,
i once chatted with a friend, she was born in Korea and she once remarked that the asian culture was all for conformity. for what it's worth - you are extremely normal in my world.

King M I

Exp, I read your post on stalking E with a grin on my face; nodding my head in agreement. How true all your points!

I am however guilty of stalking M. So much so that I think I'm in-his-face, stalking. Literally.

Case in point: my birthday is not for another month and a half but I'm already shoving into M's poor face, pictures of bags - I think will notch up the beauty quotient of a rather dull metallic but otherwise hardworking workhorse of a laptop - as if proclaiming their beauty but really: can I please have one for my birthday gift this year, M? One of these bags?

Please? ~ Inspira

Bubbly Fun

Sometimes, good print and pattern need no introduction. These from Nichole's Marble Magnets & More are just that - I'm tempted to get a whole lot of them. ;-) ~ Inspira

Blast from the Past

After almost 2 months of generating noise and polluting the neighbourhood with our renovations, M and I finally got our apartment in 1 piece. In better shape that didn't burn a hole in our pockets.

In the middle of the chaos, both of us overlooked the shades for our rooms. A film of privacy between us and the outside world. We are going simple. But that doesn't mean, I can't have feature-like drapes.

These fabrics sold at Atomic Textiles are wonderous! ~ Inspira

Ps. Are you racing to complete the conference paper Exp? Miss you and your thoughts (and your good eye).
