Irises

Dear Exp,

It's a joy to see the paintings you have discovered. I've always admired artists who have successfully mastered the skills of using watercolour as a medium. As horrifying as it sounds, for a waterbaby that I am, watercolour has never been my forte.

I'd like to share with you my all-time favourite painting. Vincent van Gogh's Irises.

Who else could it be? For a painter who only sold 1 painting in his lifetime, had a series of mental troubles, his legacy lives on. All 700 or so paintings in his 11 years of life painting.

The real reason for a trip to France in 2007 - Auvers sur Oise - where the maestro impressionist spent his last 2 months working and producing 80 paintings. ~ Inspira
