London Calling

My week stay in London made me realise that as much as I love that part of my life there, I feel a bit out of place.

I love London for its old world charm and it's vibrant arts scene. I love how I can sit in Caffe Nero for hours on end with a cuppa and a book and the city just unfolds before me. But being in London has made me realise that I may not be at my full potential there. Restraining myself - for a lack of a better word, just so that I can keep everything and everyone together.

Perhaps, it's just who I am and not the city.

The Fray wrote and sing it well :

I never knew that everything was falling through
That everyone I knew was waiting on a cue
To turn and run when all I needed was the truth
But that's how it's got to be
It's coming down to nothing more than apathy
I'd rather run the other way than stay and see
The smoke and who's still standing when it clears

Let's rearrange
I wish you were a stranger I could disengage
Just say that we agree and then never change
Soften a bit until we all just get along
But that's disregard
Find another friend and you discard
As you lose the argument in a cable car
Hanging above as the canyon comes between
