i forgot all about valentine's day until E sent me a message. i've always been luke-warm about v-day, part of it is my stubborn nature: that i do not want to belong to the masses and do what everyone does (but don't a lot of people celebrate christmas, new year's etc? i know, i'm a hypocrite.). then again, E never forgets v-day; i predict i'll be hurt if he really did (so, is E hurt that i forgot?) when you are apart, like we are, you lose something - you don't communicate nonverbally and if you were anything like me, you cling on to spoken words statically (if there's such a word) - sometimes to your own detriment. simply because words weren't supposed to be literal (i learned this the hard way). i'm better with lists (i guess), so E, this is for you...
i love E because
- he works hard, he doggedly works hard. tenacious. i admire the kind of meticulous energy he puts into all his tasks he sets his mind on. the flip side is i tend to get lazier.
- he's funny. E doesn't reveal that side of him easily. i get peek previews all the time.
- he packs the car for all road trips. he can visualize the dimensions of all luggage fitting into the trunk days before our trip and the night before, he will actually load up the car.
- he packs the doggie-stuff. Cinnamon is blessed to have a daddy like E; i figure if we were to have kids of our own in the forseeable future, i ought to start shopping now for a baby bag for E.
- he hates clutter. i hate it too, but he hates it more than i.
- he eats whatever i cook. and he enjoys it.
- he loves to snack. me too. it's a joy to see him finish a bowl of ice-cream. ben and jerry's should get him to endorse their product.
- he's smart. he's the kind that doesn't bat an eye if you were to ask him to invert a 4 by 4 matrix. i won't bat an eye either if you were to ask me; i'll just pass along your request.
- he gets emotional everytime he watches the episode of Futurama - the one when Fry refused to clone Seymour.
- he's good with kids. he'll be a great dad one day.
